Position Title: PBFC Communications and Operations Intern

Position Overview: The University Intern will support the Plant-Based Foods of Canada team on various projects and tasks designed to enhance member engagement, continue to build our communications, and promote our association’s initiatives. This internship offers a hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, perfect for gaining practical experience in communications, marketing, and member relations.
Key Responsibilities:
Communications:
Assist in the creation and distribution of newsletters and other communication materials.
Support the management of social media accounts, including content creation, scheduling, and monitoring engagement using Hootsuite.
Help maintain the association’s website with current news, events, and resources.
Support with drafting and editing articles, blog posts, and member spotlights.
Member Services:
Assist in the planning and coordination of member events, webinars, and meetings.
Help manage member databases and update contact information.
Respond to member inquiries via email and phone on an as needed basis, providing excellent customer service.
Project Support:
Participate in creative development for social media, including content creation and scheduled postings using Canva and Hootsuite.
Assist in creating a media contact list for use by Plant-Based Foods of Canada in media outreach.
Review research studies to support the development of content for use on social media, newsletters, and blogs.
Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving communication strategies and member services.
Support special projects and initiatives as needed, including marketing campaigns, events, and promotional activities.
Assist in the preparation of reports, and presentations.
Admin/Operations:
Assist with planning and execution of team meetings and events
Provide Bookkeeping support as needed.
Assist with general admin duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business, or a related field.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools; experience with Canva and Hootsuite is a plus.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.

Hourly wage of $23 per hour.
